Nothin’ doin’
Because watching the government implode from the sidelines is apparently a viable political strategy.

time for leadership: Dean Winter must step in and save Tasmania
It’s clear, the current government has no business running things. In a time of critical infrastructure needs and pressing issues, the executive is simply ticking along, without a coherent plan, without direction, and without a sense of urgency.
tasmania deserves better
The recent adjournment of parliament, with no meaningful debate or bills on the table, is just the latest sign that this government has lost its way. While the bureaucracy may be carrying out day-to-day operations, it’s not the same as leadership. It’s a troubling reality when elected officials can’t even manage to stay in session and prioritise the work of the people.
In this vacuum of leadership, it’s time for someone to step up and take charge. Dean Winter has the experience, integrity, and the gravitas to work with the Greens to form an emergency government, which could steer the state through this period of dysfunction.
But he’s choosing to watch the government unravel.
As good a political tactic it may be, delaying intervention is costing Tasmania.
Shift in thinking and priorities
This is not about politics as usual, this is about doing what’s necessary to ensure the state’s needs are met, the people are served, and Tasmania’s future is not left to chance.
The call for an emergency government should be a prelude to something bigger: a shift toward long-term stability and a rethinking of how we govern this state.
But first, we need a plan, and we need leadership that isn’t afraid to take action. Let’s give the emergency government a time stamp of 18 months to put things right and restore public trust. After that, go back to the polls.
It’s time for a real solution.
Dean Winter, it’s time to step in and save us.
